WHAT A FURORE...

Remarkable road-going tribute to Michael Schumacher heads to auction on 16th July

Fans of Michael Schumacher know no bounds and a unique entry to Historics Auctioneers’ major summer sale at Windsorview Lakes, Berkshire on 16th July will surely send them scurrying for their wallets.

The object of desire is a one-off homage to Schumacher and his 1997 Ferrari F310B Formula One car, the most enticing thing about it being that it is fully UK road legal and registered, with a current MoT certificate.

Built in 2014 by Furore Cars of Benfleet, Essex, who specialise in manufacturing full-size, road-going Formula One replicas, it was subsequently purchased by the current owner, an engineer and professional modelmaker of great repute.

He set about using his immense skills to re-craft the bodywork as a tribute to Schumacher.  whilst also upgrading the specification.  Powered by a four-cylinder Kawasaki ZZR1100 motorcycle engine with a semi-automatic paddle shift gearbox – complete with an ingenious electric reverse gear – the snug cockpit includes a racing seat designed specifically for the car, Sabelt racing harness, Momo steering wheel and a digital display.

The attention to detail and quality is astonishing, complemented by the stunning Rosso Corsa red paintwork and livery applied by Ferrari restorers, DC Coachworks of Hastings, and the replica BBS wheels, designed and manufactured with no expense spared by B-Star Wheels. The car has covered just 350 miles during its lifetime and is considered to be in excellent condition throughout.

Daniel Godin of Historics commented: “It’s extraordinary cars like this that make the classic car market such a vibrant and fascinating arena, and a tribute to the passion and craftsmanship of enthusiasts who create them.”

The 2014 Furore F1 Formula One Replica, one of 180 varied classics entered to Historics major summer sale on 16th July is offered with full documentation, a history folder of photographs, receipts, and old MoT certificated
