Ten years ago, on Saturday 2nd June 2010, the hammer came down on the first-ever Historics auction consignment. One decade, 43 auctions and over 8,600 consignments later, we will be opening the doors to our 10th Anniversary Grand Summer Sale on Saturday, 18th July, in Datchet, Berks.
Due to the unprecedented health crisis, the sale is notable of course for more than marking Historics’ ten classic years. Consequently, we have put in place measures to ensure that this sale is wholly appropriate and in the interests of the safety and security of our staff and guests.
A fresh, purpose-designed, private venue
The sale of 150 fine and varied consignments will be staged within a specially-created auction hall at a new private venue, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, Berks. It’s spectacularly set amidst 100 acres of enclosed rural grassland and is conveniently situated just 1.5 miles from Junction 5 of the M4 motorway.
For those unable to attend, the sale will of course be open to telephone and online bidding.
Why has it been chosen for this auction?
COVID-19 has created very significant constraints for us all with regard to social distancing and events, with an overriding concern about our and our families’ wellbeing.
To maximise personal health and safety for all attending, and fully comply with legislation and advice at the time of the sale, we believe it is essential that we entirely control and manage the auction venue and environment.
Significantly the private, enclosed venue is wholly-owned by the management of Historics.
It is exceptionally attractive. But more importantly, it provides the canvas we require to create a bespoke auction venue that is flexible and can be adjusted as necessary to fulfil the prevailing legislative criteria to safeguard our staff, clients, guests.
And last but by no means least, it enables us to deliver our customary professionalism and enjoyment to sellers, buyers, guests and their families.
An auction and venue 100% appropriate to these times…
