How to Buy

Historics offer a simple purchasing process as well as extremely competitive rates for the prospective buyer. If you then decide you wish to bid on the item, you will need to Register To Buy.

There are four ways of doing this:

1. In person at the sale

You will need to complete a Bidder's Registration form. These can be completed and submitted online here. Or you can download a form here and bring this along with you on the day of the sale, where it will be authorised by our Auction Office.

Please come to reception with  2 copies of ID on one of the viewing days or the day of the sale to collect your paddle number.

Please note: You can complete and submit your registration form at the auction, however to save you time we would recommend completing one of the processes above.

2. Telephone bidding

You can register to bid over the telephone with a Telephone/Commission Bid Registration Form. This is available to complete via this website here or you are able to download and manually complete the form here, returning either via email, fax, post or in person. (2 copies of ID - at least 1 photographic, will be required in order to process any manual form submitted to us.)

3. Commission bidding

You also have the option to leave a commission bid using the 'Telephone/Commission Bidding Form'. You will need to complete the Commission Bidding section at the bottom of the page, stating the highest bid you wish our staff to place on your behalf. This form can be completed electronically here, or manually download and complete your form here, returning either via email, fax, post or in person. (2 copies of ID - at least 1 photographic, will be required in order to process any manual form submitted to us.)

4. Online bidding

Historics utilise BidPath's superior technology in order to create an improved online bidding experience for our customers. Online bidding will be live the week of the auction, all users with or without an account will be required to register for the live auction they wish to bid on. Bid & Follow the auction online

Registering for our online Auction is simple and free. Simply create an account, fill in your name, address and email, and choose a password. An email will be sent to the address you provide. Clicking on the link in this will complete your registration and you will be able to begin using Historics online powered by BidPath immediately.

As the name suggests, you can make real-time bids during the sale; you see the lots on your computer at the same time as they appear in the auction room. Your live bids are relayed directly to the auctioneer and an audio feed allows you to hear bids in the room.

To simply watch and listen to the auction you do not even need to register. If you wish to bid, you will first have to fill in the simple registration form to create an account and then sign up for the auction.

Participants should note that all purchases made through our online bidding do attract a 1.5% commission fee for motor cars and 3% for Automobilia. If you require any help you can contact our team on (+44) 1753 639170.

If you are successful with any bids, please make your way to the office and let them know what your plans are for payment and collection. You can pay at once either by bankers draft, debit or credit card or you can organise your finances at a later date, in which case the lot will be taken into storage until cleared funds are with us.
