The 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo was a compact powerhouse, a symbol of the era's hot hatchback craze. Under its unassuming exterior lay a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine producing 132 horsepower, propelling the car from 0-60mph in just 7.7 seconds. This performance-oriented Escort featured a sportier suspension, distinctive body cladding, and a rear spoiler, all adding to its dynamic appearance. It was renowned for its nimble handling and provided an exhilarating driving experience. The Escort RS Turbo remains an iconic representative of the 1980s hot hatch scene, cherished by enthusiasts for its blend of practicality and spirited performance.

This Ford Escort RS Turbo was originally registered on 20th November 1986 and presents in black with a contrasting grey Recaro interior. The specification includes model correct details including 15” six spoke alloys, central locking and a factory fitted manual sunroof. Power is delivered via a limited slip differential, and we are told this hot hatch is still fun to drive. The car has recently benefitted from some light recommissioning. Interested parties should note that the mileage on this car cannot be warranted and a full inspection is advised.  There are fewer cars of this era available in their original form and this Turbo would look well in any fast Ford collection.
