AJS was the name used for cars and motorcycles made by the Wolverhampton company A.J. Stevens & Co. Ltd, from 1909 to 1931; a company which held 117 motorcycle world records. After the firm was sold, the name continued to be used by Matchless, Associated Motorcycles and Norton-Villiers on four-stroke motorcycles until 1969.
Originally registered on 3rd June 1955 this twin-cylinder 500cc AJS is in delightful condition. Having formed part of a private collection this motorcycle has resided in a heated, de-humidified mancave. We are advised by the non-biking vendor that this motorcycyle runs well and will be presented for an MoT test prior to the auction. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a good history folder, this AJS will grace any collection.
Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each Lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. All registration numbers, engine and chassis details are sourced from registration documents provided to Historics by the client or representative or HPI checks and buyers are to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of these details. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
