Maserati launched its first Quattroporte back in 1963 and has continued to make a version of this luxury four-door sports saloon ever since. The fourth-generation model came out in 1994 and was the first Maserati to be produced under new owners Fiat, who had bought this illustrious Italian marque from Alejandro de Tomaso in 1993. An evolution of the Biturbo platform, the Quattroporte IV was styled by Marcello Gandini (of Lamborghini Miura and Countach fame) and featured his signature slashed rear wheel arch design which had first been seen on the Countach and later on the Maserati Shamal. Initially powered by the 280bhp twin-turbo 24-valve 2.8 V6 from the Ghibli, the Quattroporte IV got the flagship Shamal engine in 1996, a 336bhp twin-turbo 3.2 V8 which gave it blistering performance, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 168mph. A Getrag six-speed manual gearbox came as standard, but a more town-friendly ZF four-speed automatic was also available as an option.

This excellent, rare right hand drive, 1999 Maserati Quattroporte IV has only covered 23,400 miles from new which is supported by comprehensive service history. Supplied new by Meridien Maserati in the New Forest, Hampshire to Mr. J Peters of St. Peters Port, Guernsey. In his ownership the car was looked after by Meridien Modena and Doyle Motors Guernsey. In 2015, the car was sold to Dr. D Mitchell and imported into the UK, for the three years that he kept the car it was maintained by Autoshield Maserati, Manchester. The next change of keeper came in 2017/18 when passed to Mr. P Winfield whose preferred repairer was McGrath Maserati. The last recorded service with the cambelts changed was with Autoshield at 23,176 miles in November 2021, this was done for the current owner who purchased the car in June 2021. Since that service the car has covered less than 200 miles. Finished in Netuno Blue metallic with Ivory leather interior, this excellent Maserati Quattroporte IV is supplied with an MoT test certificate which expires in August 2024, the handbook pack which contains the service record book and a file containing invoices from 2015 to the last service. The Quattroporte IV Evoluzione is regarded as the best Quattroporte produced as this was after Maserati was taken over by Ferrari.
