The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupé and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. Self-levelling Xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.

This lovely Supercharged XKR is presented in Platinum Silver metallic with black hood and a complementary full black leather interior. The car is fitted with unmarked 18" alloy wheels and shod with a decent set of tyres all around. Being the top of the range XKR, this car has all the goodies of the era including Walnut fascia, satellite navigation, heated electric seats and mirrors, air conditioning and CD autochanger. Presented with a comprehensive Jaguar main dealer service history up to 88,696 miles in 2016 when it was purchased and put it into storage where the owner hoped it would appreciate in value. In 2021, it had a new battery and a major service and recently our vendor has had the coil packs, rear discs, and pads replaced. Importantly, we are informed that this example starts at first ask and runs smoothly and will make a lovely summer cruiser. The car is supplied with the handbook folder, service book, invoices, last purchase invoice, MoT test certificates, of which the previous advisories have been attended to and it now has a new MoT test certificate valid until Feb 2024, along with two original keys and fobs.
