- Very rare Series I GTi model
- Believed to be one of just 10 examples left in the UK
- 2.4 litre engine with five-speed manual gearbox
Delivered new in December 1979 to Monsieur Andre Gilbert of Mirande, France via Auch Citroën, this example was ordered in Beige Opale with Brun velour interior and was equipped with a manual gearbox, air conditioning, electric windows, central locking, and TRX alloy wheels. Monsieur Gilbert owned the CX for some 35 years, it was always garaged and lovingly maintained by its fastidious owner and never driven in the wet. In 2014 due to ill health the CX was sold to its next custodian, who himself was a Citroën dealer who continued maintaining the car in its incredible original condition.
In 2017 the CX was imported to the UK by Citroën enthusiasts Alphons Ruyl of Ruyl Classics in Holland at circa 40,788km, complete with original Citroën owner’s book pack and manual, as well as the original economical driving manual, dealership leaflet, service leaflet, emergency leaflet, Citroën CX sales brochure, certificat d’immatriculation and TUV documentation.
Offered with a delightful Norex 1:64 model of a Beige Opale Citroën CX and spare keys, this example has had much recent expenditure and is offered in ‘time warp’ condition. This CX has been maintained to the highest of standards and has now covered just 58,000km (36,000 miles) from new. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
