  • Very rare specification, manual with ducktail spoilerRecent engine and drive belt service at Porsche Bristol

The 991 generation Porsche 911 was produced between 2011 and 2019. It is known for retaining its iconic design, exceptional driving dynamics, and advanced technology. The first generation 991 (2011 to 2015) is powered by a range of flat-six engines that range from 3.4 to 4.0 litres in displacement. The range offers a car for every occasion, from the base 3.4 litre Carrera, for daily duties, to the 4.0 litre GT3 RS for track driving and the 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged Turbo S for long distance cruising. The 991 generation 911 features a distinctive design, with its classic 911 silhouette and wide rear arches, which give it a modern and aggressive look. It also includes advanced features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This particular example is something of a hidden gem in the line-up. It was specified from new with the lesser-seen seven-speed manual transmission, and interestingly, a ducktail spoiler. The ducktail really sets this car apart from the rest, harking back to the original 2.7RS, which needs no introduction. Being a first generation 991, this car is fitted with the glorious naturally aspirated 3.8 litre, 400bhp flat-six, which would have made way for a far less dramatic 3.0 litre turbocharged unit in the later second generation Carrera S’. So few cars were specified like this from new, many opted for the ever popular PDK automatic transmission, that surely means this specification is one we will all look back on in years to come and it cements this cars place as a true future classic.

The car comes to sale with a comprehensive service record and a fresh engine and drive belt service by Porsche Centre Bristol. Our vendor has thoroughly enjoyed his time with this car, but having recently moved into a newer 911, has decided this 991 isn’t quite getting the regular use it deserves. If you are wanting to get involved with the Porsche 75th anniversary celebrations this year, but don’t fancy the more demanding ownership experience of an air-cooled 911, this is probably the car for the job. The manual transmission and naturally aspirated engine will offer all of the drama of the classic 911’s, but with the added comfort and reliability the modern cars have become so well known for.
