Perhaps one of the most recognisable designs ever penned for Ferrari by Pininfarina is that of the 308. The 308 was much different from Ferrari's first two-seat, mid-engined road car, the 246 Dino, as its design was angular, sharp and more forward thinking. Nevertheless, the 308 was an instant hit and it came to define sports cars of the late 1970s and early 1980s. As successful as the 308 was, Ferrari's engineers found ways to refine its design and mechanics without losing the flair that defined it. What emerged was a car that was improved in every aspect; a car that could stand tall amongst its siblings; that car was the 328. The Ferrari 328 exhibited several subtle differences from its predecessor, including moulded bumpers, a slightly smaller front grille and a roof spoiler. Pininfarina's designers also smoothed out the shape of the body to make it appear slightly less aggressive overall. Inside, Ferrari introduced new and more supportive seats and refined ergonomics with improved general quality to make the car's driving experience more intuitive. Mechanically, overall capacity was raised to 3186cc through increasing the bore and stroke which helped to bring maximum horsepower to 270 at 7000rpm. It could also reach a top speed of 160mph and travel from 0-60 in a brisk 5.5 seconds.

First registered on 4th February 1986, this UK supplied right hand drive pre-ABS example boasts just three owners from new and was unearthed from a garage in early 2022 after a decade tucked away. It is presented in stunning ‘as new’ Rosso Corsa with Crema leather trim and it shows very little wear, unsurprisingly, given the incredibly low mileage of 9,966. The service booklet shows that the car was supplied by H.R. Owen to a Mr. King in London on 5th February 1986, H.R. Owen then serviced the car in 1986 and 1987 before Lancaster Ferrari in Colchester in 1988. In 1994 and 1998, Terry Hoyle Engineering cared for the car before Italia Autosport of West Yorkshire who serviced the car without fail annually between 1999 and 2011 documenting the mileage and maintenance. The car was fully recommissioned in the summer of 2022 with all new fluids, the invoices for which can be found in the history file totalling in excess of £8,000. Offered with a V5C registration document, stamped service booklet and leather wallet, toolkit and MoT test certificate valid until August 2023. Fully detailed, this example is now in showroom condition and being one of only 260 UK right hand drive examples produced, it’s incredibly desirable for both collector and Ferrari enthusiasts alike.
