There is little doubt that the Mercedes-Benz S class has been something of an automotive yardstick for technology and luxury within the Automotive World. They have historically represented the very best of the German marks forward thinking design and comfort. After six years in development, this was to be the model that would take Mercedes-Benz into the next decade and serve as the flagship for the three-pointed-star.

The quality of construction therefore allows these cars to maintain a superior presence on the road long after lesser examples have been consigned to the scrapheap. Supplied new by the diplomatic sales division of Mercedes-Benz in Piccadilly, London on 12th February 1990, this highly specified long wheelbase S- Class is presented is a very well spec’d example and has the desirable and comfortable electric rear seats. Complete with reasonably new tyres all-round, the paintwork appears in good order. As you would expect of a car of this intrinsic quality, it has been well enjoyed, the interior is also showing characteristically little wear with two-position memory seats and air-conditioning. Offered with the original stamped service booklet with 15 main dealer stamps from new and 25 stamps in all, as well as various invoices and receipts from previous maintenance and the original owner’s manual, the MoT test expires in November and a full service took place last November with few miles driven in-between. Inspection is always recommended but the history is extensive and the car will be driven to the sale.
