The Jaguar XJ40 was manufactured between 1986 and 1994. Officially unveiled on 8th October 1986 it was an all-new redesign of the XJ to replace the Series III, although the two model ranges were sold concurrently until the Series III was discontinued in 1992. Lister Cars Limited took the standard XJ12 and offered a comprehensive range of upgrades including engine upgrade at a cost of £28,350, Brembo brakes £7,645, retrim front seats £3,950 Lister body kit £6,035 and Lister 18-inch wheels £5,888. All of these and more are fitted to this XJ12 resulting in a stunning example.
Originally registered on 1st August 1993, this Jaguar XJ12 was modified by Lister and, given that each vehicle is a bespoke service, the owner at the time spent £69,389 having the car modified. With superb performance from the twin-supercharged V12 engine which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, stopping power is supplied via Brembo brakes. The black coachwork of this Jaguar is in unmarked condition as is the cream Connolly hide interior. The powerful V12 engine burst into life when requested and sounded delightful, courtesy of the sports exhaust. The fastidious vendor purchased the car from ourselves in 2018 and sent the car to Woodham Mortimer to have the car checked over mechanically; he spent over £5,000 at the time and has continually invested in the car to ensure it presents in pristine condition. Offering comfort, style, power, and prestige all in one package, this Lister was featured in the May 2009 edition of Jaguar World magazine. Thought to be the only one in existence and such a fabulous unmarked example.
