The 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible from Mercedes-Benz. Born out of the earlier 500 SL models, the new SL500 featured many new and innovative ideas for the time such as controlled electronic damping, automatically expanding roll-over bar and a more modern multi-link rear axle. Fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. With powerful engines, stopping power was aided by anti-locking braking for added reassurance.
This Mercedes-Benz presents in stunning condition in the desirable colour combination of Tourmaline Green with a contrasting beige interior. Described by the vendor as being in near concours condition, the looks of this SL500 are enhanced by a rare AMG body styling and diamond cut alloy wheels. This well equipped car features electric memory seats, climate control and rear seats and benefits from a body coloured glass panoramic removable hardtop. Offered to auction with a fresh Mot test certificate showing no advisories, a V5C registration document and a good Mercedes-Benz service history, this low mileage example offers a tremendous driving experience.
