The Jaguar XJS is a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. The XJS was a competent replacement with better aerodynamics than the E-Type and was last produced on 4th April, 1996 by which time 115,413 had been produced during a 21 year production life. The car was re-engineered in May 1991 and renamed XJS (facelift). The rear side windows appeared enlarged and the buttresses stayed, although their appearance was minimised by the new side window treatment, as designer Geoff Lawson argued that they were part of the car's character. The car received a new 4.0 litre version of the AJ16 engine. At the same time, the car benefitted from a revision to the rear brakes; they were now fitted with outboard rear disc brakes, instead of the more complicated inboard items on previous models. It also received a more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers.

This automatic XJS 4.0 convertible is presented in British Racing Green with Doeskin leather and oatmeal carpets with a beige hood, Boasting a "£2,000 rear seat conversion" as well as air-conditioning, computer, Panasonic CD/stereo and Thatcham II alarm immobiliser", this is the desirable long rear light model but being mid-facelift still has the chrome bumpers. Described as in very good order and with a tear free interior and a new hood. The odometer reads 48,000 miles due to a speedo change, but the true mileage is 145,000, however the car and the finish is that of a much lower mileage example, this is testament to how these 4.0 litre XJS’s could comfortably eat up the mileage indeed it "completed a faultless tour of France (2,700 miles) in September 2005 during which it averaged 25mpg (with the top off)". Within the history file are bills coupled to the UK V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until September 2022. This is a lovely example of the XJS offered with a very sensible guide and perfect for hood down motoring.
