The wizards of Affalterbach, creators of the AMG company in 1967 which became the official engine tuner for Mercedes-Benz in 1999. The Mercedes-Benz W221 was the chassis code of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the successor of the S-Class W220. The S-Class is the flagship vehicles of Mercedes-Benz and each generation typically introduces a range of technical innovations and developments that over time will find their way into smaller cars. The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, the most powerful top of the line S-Class model made, was even more appealing thanks to a series of subtle yet extremely effective fine-tuning measures, the performance saloon is even more striking and priceless than ever before. The updated technology is aimed at ensuring a more dynamic driving experience as well as optimum active and passive safety. Exclusivity and dynamism combined with effortless superiority and state of the art technology, the top S-Class model from Mercedes AMG embodies all these characteristics and more. The AMG six litre bi-turbo V12 engine of the S65 AMG delivers maximum power of 612hp and maximum torque of 1000 Newton metres, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The saloon is electronically limited to 250km/h. Despite no changes having been made to the engine data and performance values, it has still been possible to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to three percent. The S65 continued to use the five speed gearbox, because it can handle the higher torque of the engine, as opposed to the seven speed transmission.
This good Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG was supplied new in July 2006 by Mercedes-Benz Stockport with AGM options including 20” forged wheels and carbon fibre piano lacquer trim. Since being supplied the wheels have been replaced with Brabus 21 inch wheels with low profile tyres. The car has a good service history up to December 2015 at 50,489 miles and has had little use since, the MoT test certificate passed in October 2018 was at 54,087 miles and the current mileage is at 58,000 miles. The current owner will have the car serviced and MoT’d before the auction. Finished in dark blue with dark tan leather interior, this Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2022 and the stamped service book. The top of the line, S65, set new standards in equipment not only with its powerful engine but also with its suspension, brakes and with its active and passive safety systems. The ultimate in power and comfort.
