Closed van and open flat-bed versions of the Minor were built from 1953 until the end of production. They were designed for commercial use with small businesses. Both the van and the pick-up differed from the monocoque construction of the saloon and Traveller variants by having a separate chassis. They also differed in details such as telescopic rear dampers, stiffer rear leaf springs and lower-ratio differentials to cope with heavier loads. The commercials versions were initially marketed as the Morris Quarter Ton Van and Pick-up. The names Morris 6cwt Van and Pick-up were used following the introduction of the 1098cc engine in 1962.
This 1967 Morris van has been a museum exhibit for the last 12 years and is presented to auction as part of a deceased estate. We are informed that a restoration was completed on the van in the 1990’s. Although this Morris runs it will require both mechanical and bodywork attention. A perfect opportunity to advertise a business, this MoT test exempt Morris van is presented to auction with a V5C registration document and is offered without reserve.
