Successor to the race proven E9 3.0CS/CSi, the BMW 6-series was introduced in August 1976. More forgiving than its predecessors, it utilised a modified version of the 5-series saloon platform equipped with all-round independent suspension and powerful disc brakes. A natural rival to the 928 and XJS, the four-seater 6-series proved more capacious than the Porsche and sportier than the Jaguar. Immediately recognisable thanks to its distinctive 'shark nose' frontal styling and thin pillared glasshouse it boasts real road presence. An impression backed up by the various versions of BMW's mighty M30, SOHC straight-six engine fitted throughout the range. Second only to the BMW Motorsport tuned M6 version, the 635CSi's 3430cc unit developed some 216bhp and 232lbft of torque propelling it from 0-60mph in 8.4 seconds and on to 135mph.

This distinctive Zinnobar Red 635 CSi is in very good condition throughout with an equally impressive interior trim in black leather and, at the time of inspection, with everything working and sitting on genuine BBS RC009 wheels. The car was subject to a restoration between completed in 2019 which included a bare metal repaint and an odometer change hence the reading of 72,000; however this is fully documented, and the old odometer is supplied with the car. The vendor states the car drives well and is trouble free. Within the history file is an original book pack including a stamped service booklet, original dealer brochure and even the original build sheet and order confirming optional rear seat head restraints, 458+ memory, automatic speed hold (cruise control) and radio fitting preparation, heated locks, washers and mirrors, tilt slide sunroof electrical seats with memory and a multi-function steering wheel to name a few. Our vendor states the paintwork had a de-contamination, clay bar and waxing in January and presents extremely well he has also sourced a period correct Blaupunkt radio which is supplied with the history. It was serviced annually by the previous owner and enthusiast throughout his ownership, the last being in December and is offered with a new MoT certificate until September 2021 with no advisories. An iconic 80’s sportscar in very good condition with that imposing shark nose, this is an appreciating classic from BMW and becoming popular with genuine modern classic enthusiasts.
