The E60 M5 was introduced in 2005, with a V10 engine and 7-speed transmission linking the car with the BMW Sauber Formula One program. The E60 M5 was the world's first production saloon to use a V10 petrol engine. The E63/E64 M6 coupé and convertible are based on a shortened version of the M5 chassis and largely use the same mechanical components. The official 0 to 62 mph acceleration figure is 4.7 seconds, however magazine tests have recorded figures down to 4.1 seconds. The E60 M5 was the fastest 4-door saloon available at the time of its introduction with the top speed electronically restricted to 155 mph but could be raised to 190 mph with the optional M-driver's package. To cap off a stunning entry into the sports saloon market the M5 recorded a Nürburgring lap time of an impressive 8:13 and with just 1,776 UK examples produced is very well thought of amongst collectors and enthusiasts.
With perhaps the best engine ever fitted to a super saloon the M5 is the kind of car that will unsettle a supercar while looking equally at home in the supermarket car park. This fabulous stock unmolested example presented in Silverstone II metallic blue with extended Merino leather has been owned by a string of enthusiasts who have clearly lavished the car with the appropriate level of care. Every service indicator on the electronic interval program displays green with a fully stamped history until 2014 and 71,624 miles and invoices thereafter demonstrating the previous owner and our vendor changed the fluids annually regardless. We are informed by the vendor that at the time of consignment everything works and within the history file we find a recent BMW main dealer inspection, two advisories, both of which were immediately taken care and evidence of all four Vanos solenoids refurbished. The options from new included multifunction seats with rare active side bolsters, uprated stereo (now upgraded to offer Bluetooth), ski bag loading, heated rear seats and M5 remote control adding £2,525 to the standard price taking this example to just shy of £65,000 when new.
Offered with a full book pack, MoT until September 2021, two keys, a comprehensive service history and with consistent genuine mileage this is a fabulous motorcar with an engine that you must experience - a true modern classic.
