This stunning example of a two owner, low mileage 500 SL with the desirable larger engine is privately owned and presented in one of the best colour combinations of brilliant silver with full contrasting blue leather trim. Originally registered in June 1996 makes this a very late car in the production of the R129, it was purchased for £79,135 which included the optional eight-hole alloy wheels. Prior to our vendor, this car has had just two previous owners and we are informed all electricals perform as they should. The accompanying history file contains the full book pack and numerous old MoT test certificates, the stamped service booklet showing no less than 16 service stamps, the first eight with Mercedes-Benz main agents and the following eight with the same garage in St Albans who have cared for the car since 2007, the last in January at 55,352 miles.
These are well equipped vehicles with electric memory seats, heated seats, air conditioning, power roof and smoothness from the 4973cc V8 engine that must be experienced to be appreciated. Fast becoming an appreciating modern classic, a late 500 SL is certainly at the top of the SL wish list and viewing highly recommended.
The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
