So commonplace is the SUV now, with nearly every manufacturer offering a model, it could be easy to forget that this popular sector of the car market started in 1998 at the Paris Salon with the Matra-built Espace concept. The development cost an eye watering 1.4bn French Francs or €285m in today’s money. This original design was to become the Avantime, a genuine mould-breaker that offered a luxurious and spacious interior, enhanced with an ingenious double glass roof and pillarless side glazing. It is easy to see what Renaults design project manager meant when he said “we want someone walking around the car to be continually astonished”. The commanding view of the road and surroundings was further enhanced by an elevated driving position and theatre seating for passengers.
Originally registered on 1st September 2002 this handsome Renault presents in very good order throughout. The car has just had a service with new tyres fitted at the same time and is supplied with the original book pack and a collection of invoices. Finished in the great colour combination of purple with a grey roof and beige leather interior. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate this Renault Avantime Privilege is fitted with automatic transmission. Offered at no reserve, this stunning car represents an affordable opportunity to own an important part of motoring history.
The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
