The Jaguar XJS is a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent replacement with better aerodynamics than the E-Type and was last produced on 4th April 1996, by which time 115,413 had been produced during a 21 year production life. The car was re-engineered in May 1991 and renamed XJS (facelift). The rear side windows appeared enlarged and the buttresses stayed, although their appearance was minimised by the new side window treatment, as designer Geoff Lawson argued that they were part of the car's character. The car received a new 4.0 litre version of the AJ16 engine. At the same time, the car benefitted from a revision to the rear brakes; they were now fitted with outboard rear disc brakes, instead of the more complicated inboard items on previous models. It also received a more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers.

This wonderful example of this highly desirable model is presented in Sapphire Blue with the much favoured Oatmeal leather interior and sits on, as new, factory option chrome alloy wheels with recent Pirelli P7 tyres. Privately owned by a self-proclaimed enthusiast, this XJS is a credit to him, offered with the complete toolkit, full book pack, original sales brochures and original price list. Serviced comprehensively initially with Jaguar main dealers and more recently with Surrey Jag Centre, the last of which was just over 1,000 miles ago and who mentioned to our vendor that it was the best one they had worked on. Offered with a history file full of previous MoT test certificates, invoices and details of maintenance, all of which show a very good level of care. The Celebration models with their powerful 4.0 litre AJ16 engine and electric hood are hard to find in this stunning condition and, together with its drop dead gorgeous looks, an XJS private plate, it still turns heads today and is a very collectable motorcar.

The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
