The Range Rover, a large luxury four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle launched in 1970 is now in its fourth generation. In 1967, the first Range Rover prototype was built with the classic Range Rover shape clearly discernible although with a different front grille and headlight configuration. The design of the Range Rover was eventually finalised and signed off in 1969. After 25 years from the introduction of the first-generation Range Rover, the second generation Range Rover model, designation P38A, was introduced for the 1995 model year with an updated version of the Rover V8 engines. The new model offered more equipment and premium trims positioning the vehicle above the Land Rover Discovery to face ever increasing competition in the SUV marketplace.

This very well cared for P38A, 2001 model, with the 4.0 litre V8 engine, is presented in HSE specification with Epsom Green coachwork and Light Stone leather trim with black piping and wood door cappings. The third owner covered less than 10,000 miles in the car, keeping it mostly stored in her garage in Henley-on-Thames for almost a decade until 2018. Since then the car has, again covered very few miles with enthusiast owners ensuring the car is kept in lovely condition. Recent invoices show circa £2,000 recommissioning in 2018 which included a new air suspension compressor and sensors to bring the car to good order and in February this year a second key was purchased and coded alongside a new battery. Accompanying the car is a service history, mainly with Lancaster Land Rover Reading, which shows the mileage of 65,921 miles in 2007, before a comprehensive service at 71,111 in 2018. The car is presented with an MoT test certificate valid until September 2020. We are informed the interior is in good order as is the bodywork, the headlining is firm and the original carpets in the cabin and rear are all in good condition.
