The iconic Porsche 911/993 was introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 964 and was built until 1998. Regarded by many as the best generation of 911's ever produced from Stuttgart, this car was the last to use the air cooled flat six engine that had powered 911s for the previous thirty years and thus the end of an era. It was offered in a number of guises and specifications during its production life including two and four wheel drive trains, known as Carrera and Carrera 4 respectively. The 993 was the first generation 911 to have standard six-speed manual transmission and, to this day, the manual examples are seen as more desirable compared to those with the then new tiptronic automatic transmission, given their fabulous driving performance.
This stunning recreation of the iconic 993 RS is offered in Ocean Blue with full Marble Grey leather trim, it is referred to as the Varioram model, the very last year of the air-cooled 911. A manual example in stunning condition, this coupé has had fortunes lavished on it including the genuine RS body kit, fully adjustable front Bilstein suspension set to RS +10mm, sports exhaust and rather expensive Tremont three-piece Speedline wheels with excellent tyres. The upgrades do not stop there with a genuine 993 RS steering wheel and surrounds, carbon hardback seats, Xenon HID headlights and clear lenses all round.
The extensive history file shows work including a steering rack rebuild, upper and lower cam cover gaskets, rear bumper supports and full suspension set up. The service history is equally as impressive, coupled to a recent service in February of this year, are 16 further stamps in the original booklet which can be found within the original book pack. In 2007, the car suffered minor flood damage and, as such, was subject to an insurance loss, it was fully repaired and the work was fully inspected by Autolign, the car is now listed on HPi as ‘condition inspected’.
The vendor describes this car as a true drivers 911, manual, air-cooled and set up to enjoy every turn while retaining a comfortable 993 cabin with ice cold air conditioning. He has taken the bumpers and side skirts off and found no signs of crash damage with all the front and rear stickers in place. This is a wonderful example of a car that turns heads, puts a smile of your face and is the last of an iconic model. At this estimate, this car is fabulous value with a history file that gives equal confidence to any buyer.
