The iconic Porsche 911/993 was introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 964 and was built until 1998. Regarded by many as the best generation of 911's ever produced from Stuttgart, this car was the last to use the air cooled flat six engine that had powered 911s for the previous thirty years and thus the end of an era. It was offered in a number of guises and specifications during its production life including two and four wheel drive trains, known as Carrera and Carrera 4 respectively. The 993 was the first generation 911 to have standard six-speed manual transmission and, to this day, the manual examples are seen as more desirable compared to those with the then new tiptronic automatic transmission, given their fabulous driving performance.

What must be a virtually unique motoring opportunity, to acquire, not just the final incarnation of the air-cooled 911, manufactured for one year only in 1997, in its most desirable form, a manual, two wheel drive coupé, but one that has the most remarkable, unquestionable provenance.
Having been serviced exclusively by Porsche Main Dealers, without fail, from new.
A total, documented history accompanies this Porsche, highlighting 17 OPC service entries alone. The last 11, having been carried out consecutively, by Porsche Guildford since 2003 in 3362 miles, with 32 stamps in total.

Finished in Arena Red metallic with Cashmere and Black leather interior, this superb Porsche enjoys electric seats, air conditioning, sun-moon-roof and heated front seats to name a few of the factory options fitted to the car (a full list can be seen in the history file). As can be expected for such a low mileage example, the entire external bodywork emits a deep glossy shine overall with all glass and lenses remaining clear and free from any cracks or crazing. Rubber seals, wiper arms and blades are as new. The seats, door cards, switches, door cappings, dashboard and headlining are totally unmarked. Carpets and mats also remain in fine order. The 18” hollow spoke Technology alloys are virtually as new and shod with the appropriate Pirelli P-Zero N-Rates tyres.

Enjoyed by it’s last private owner since 2003, this fabulous example was originally supplied by official Porsche Centre Northampton on 12th February 1997 to Mr. Colin Morby. All the MoT test certificates are present, plus the majority of the original invoices. A full owner’s pack in a black leather wallet, with all the handbooks is present, together with all keys, immobilisers and remote fobs. With Limited Slip Differential, Sports Suspension, Traction Control and 285bhp available, accessed via a six-speed manual gearbox, it achieves 60mph in around 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of around 170mph. Arguably, one of the best ever Porsche 911’s produced, and even by today standards, certainly no slouch! If you have ever been waiting for the best air-cooled 911/993 to come along, this could well be your only opportunity - don’t miss it!
