The first-generation Boxster, the 986 was introduced in late 1996 and was powered by a 2.5 litre flat six engine. Harm Lagaay's design, inspired by the 356 Speedster and 550 Spyder, stimulated a commercial turnaround for Porsche. It was Porsche's first water-cooled, non-front engine sports car, as the Boxster is mid-engine, while in the 911, rear-engine. This layout provided a low centre of gravity, near-perfect weight distribution and good handling.

This example is finished in metallic blue with a tan hide interior, it is presented with an electric hood, climate control, wind deflectors, traction control and the service book showing eight stamps.Accompanying the paperwork is a full handbook pack which is always good to have. These great little German sports cars arrived with a hurrah and are still giving much pleasure and an adrenalin rush to owners today but at a fraction of their cost when new.
