The Cadillac Automobile Company was established in 1902, named after French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe sierra de Cadillac who had founded Detroit in 1701. General Motors (GM) acquired Cadillac in 1909 becoming the prestige division of the corporation and synonymous since with some of the world’s most opulent and sumptuous motor cars. GM embarked upon a strategy in the late 1990's to use the Cadillac brand to penetrate the relentlessly strong European executive luxury segment, dominated by the products of highly respected brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar.

With power from GM's advanced four-cam, 4.6 litre North Star, V8 producing 305bhp, the Cadillac Seville STS boasted a higher specification than its direct rivals and GM elected to compete head-to-head on price in an effort to make an impact. Just 649 Cadillac Seville STS's were sold in the whole of Europe in 2001. This example, a righthand drive built for the UK market, was sold specified in metallic dark bottle green with finest grade beige leather upholstery. The car presents superbly and benefits from a Bose music system amongst a vast array of other luxury appointments. Reported as delivering effortless power, seamless transmission and a 'magic carpet ride' driving experience, our example has covered just 53,000 miles from new. This car provides, power, pedigree, comfort and a considerable degree of exclusivity - all in all a compelling package for a collector looking for a little individuality.

Interested parties might like to note that the following paperwork is included;

• V5
• Current MOT certificate - a total of 12 original MOT certificates come in the history file, which verifies the low mileage
• Spare Cadillac badged key and remote fob
• Leather owners’ book-pack. Includes another spare key blade/Cadillac Service Europe Card/Service Europe Booklet
• General Motors Overseas Passenger Car Service Booklet - A total of 4 stamps in the book dated May 2002 - December 2007 (24,100 miles) see photos
The 4.7 NorthStar V8 engine was described as being 'Maintenance Free' in normal driving conditions by Cadillac though people naturally still serviced their cars. There are no service sheets in the history papers beyond what is stamped in the book. The car however behaves impeccably, and the engine and transmission are as smooth as silk.
