The Jaguar XJS is a luxury grand tourer, which was produced from 1975 to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent replacement with better aerodynamics than the E-Type. The last XJS was produced in April 1996, by which time 115,413 had been produced during a 21-year production life and its specifications compared well against Italian cars with good performance to match. The first series of XJS cars had a Borg Warner model 12 transmission and in 1983, a new 3.6 litre AJ6 straight-six engine was introduced which was a hugely flexible unit and an extremely popular option.

This nice example is presented in Sapphire Blue with cream leather interior. It is fitted with the 3.6 litre straight-six engine which is mated to a manual gearbox and it comes with electric windows, central locking and power steering. The car was purchased new by the previous owner in 1989 and was finished to his personal specification. It remained in his ownership for 29 years and was acquired by the present owner in 2018 when works were then carried out to the suspension and brakes. The car comes with a MoT test certificate which is valid until July 2020.
