During 1970, the Giulia 105 series Spider was updated in numerous areas. Most significantly, was the revision at the rear. Gone was its roundtail look and, in its place, was the aerodynamically more efficient, Wunibald Kamm- design. Other changes were not so easily spotted. The windscreen was more inclined leading to additional modifications. Adorning the front was a new heart shaped grille and revised bumpers. Several other detail changes were made before production changed to the Series III model in 1982.
We are delighted to offer this meticulously detailed example manufactured, according to the Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin, on 22nd September 1975 and first registered on 11th November 1975. The Pininfarina coachwork is splendid with excellent panel gaps and wonderful Rosso paintwork. The current owner and now vendor, has meticulously detailed this Spider, not only to look good but to function correctly also. The ashtray lid has had any minor dents removed and then polished. The same treatment was applied to the stainless steel wheel caps that are fitted to the stove enameled wheels that are fitted with the correct size, 165/80/14 tyres, including the spare. This Alfa Romeo was subject to a small accident that damaged the front panel and offside front wing resulting in category S damage. The works to repair were carried out to the highest standards with new factory period panels sourced in Holland. We are informed that even the original factory welds were matched and a subsequent inspection by Autolign Inspections resulted in that category S having now been removed. There is a too long a list to note everything that has been done mechanically, however, it does include, new brake servos, handbrake assembly, carburettors overhauled etc; all listed within the extensive and beautifully presented history file. Also included is the history of owners from new, an original sales brochure, owner’s manual, invoices and, of course, the UK V5 registration document. The interior has not been excluded from the treatment, the original ‘Personal’ wood rimmed steering wheel is exceptional, as are the original seat covers and foams that have been carefully restored and, although not available, a boot mat to the correct specification material.
It is rare to find an Alfa Romeo Spider of this quality on the market today. You are invited to inspect this Spider and its file for yourself and, we think you will agree, that this is a very fine Alfa Romeo indeed.
