Lot 108 - 1991 Mercedes-Benz 190 E (2.6 litre)
|Odometer reading||96,000 miles|
|Result||Sold - £3,080|
The 190E is one of those enduring classics. Unfussy to look at, superb to drive, well built, reliable and classless. We all know that Mercedes-Benz spent half a billion pounds developing this model, excessive at first sight until you realise that this investment ushered in a new dawn of motorcars for the Stuttgart manufacturer that carried them through to the next decade. With many trim levels and mechanical options, a wide variety of discerning customers was catered for but based on this pure-bred mechanical platform.
Supplied with the original registration from the first dealer, incredibly, this straight forward example has had just one owner from new (excluding the initial dealership) and, with 96,000 miles recorded; it is a testament to its enduring popularity and reliability. This later 190 came equipped with an in-line, six cylinder engine with capacity increased to 2.6 litre and 160bhp on tap. Additionally, it benefits from a recent extensive service to include air filters, engine, gearbox and differential oil as well as refurbished 15 hole alloy wheels. Complete with its original hand book pack, this modern classic is offered without reserve.
