In keeping with many of the other Mercedes-Benz model series, the new CLK-Class in 2002 was able to bear the three letter mark of sporting prowess AMG. The package promised superlative power delivery and outstanding handling as well as a list of equipment that positively exuded exclusivity. Topping the new CLK range was a V8 model that delivered performance on a par with a typical sports car; the CLK55 AMG produced an impressive 362bhp which could propel this stylish sports cabriolet to 60mph in just 5.2 seconds. Further features that made the flagship CLK- Class sports model really stand out included a special AMG body styling for the front apron, rear apron and side skirts not to mention the 18" AMG alloy wheels and the AMG exhaust system with twin tail pipes. The CLK55 AMG was a rare and high-performance car powered by a hand assembled, 5.4 litre, V8 engine inscribed by the individual engineer who built the unit. Production was in Bremen, Germany. There were only a few hundred cars built each year from 2002 to 2006 and most examples were exported to the USA with only a handful ended up on these shores.
We are delighted to offer one of these rare beasts, in fact this is a 2005 facelifted 209 Series model with only three owners and has covered just 45,000 miles. The car is presented in classic brilliant silver with Anthracite leather interior and electric black softtop which can be operated via the key fob or at speeds up to 5mph in just 20 seconds. This example is in outstanding original condition and it also benefits from being a Sports Edition based on the Avantgarde specification with Bi-Xenon headlights, restyled front bumper, a spoiler on the boot, cross drilled brakes and five spoke 17" wheels. The AMG sports package also included a 200mph speedo! This fabulous example is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2020 and a full Mercedes-Benz service history with its fully stamped and original books including a recent service in 2019. This car wants for nothing with every gadget working exactly as it should - all ready for its new owner to use and enjoy.
