Barrie’s father, Frank Williams, was the proprietor of Bromyard Engineering Ltd. His father, Edmund Williams, had been involved with bikes and car for many years. Frank Williams was involved in the design and building of Fastakart confirmed by the interesting history folder. Barrie Williams seemed to love driving these karts and was quickly the teams’ number one driver. The kart offered for sale here was his first racing machine and marked the beginning of a successful racing career lasting over 50 years. Barrie went on to win many races in this kart including the Spanish Grand Prix in 1961.

Barrie Williams was in demand and switched to racing a huge variety of cars and won the Welsh RAC Rally in a Mini Cooper. In recent years ‘Whizzo’ decided to restore his beloved kart back to its former glory, photographic evidence is in the file. Fitted with a powerful Villiers engine, the result is a machine that will be welcomed into any historic classic event. This Fastakart is a superb machine with magnificent provenance that is ready to go.
