Lot 225 - 1949 Chevrolet Thriftmaster Pick-up

Lot Number 225
Registration WXG 741
Chassis Number tbc
Engine Number tbc
Estimate £15,000 - £18,000

Chevrolet began building pick-up trucks at the start of World War I and, in the first year of production, about 900 rolled off the line. By 1942, when civilian production stopped, Chevrolet had produced two million trucks. Clearly they were doing something right. Although a number of body styles were available including pick-ups and cab only models, the basic styling and design changed very little.

This eye catching Chevrolet is somewhat different from the day it was built in 1949. The impressive sound of the 5.7 litre Chevy motor needs to be experienced at first hand. Fitted with an air suspension system, running boards and white wall tyres, we are informed by the vendor that this pick-up truck is a real head turner. We are also informed that the bullet holes are for effect only and we didn’t feel like arguing!
