May 1962 saw the introduction of the MG B. This direct replacement for the MG A was fitted with a 1798cc four cylinder engine. The Pininfarina designed GT version of the model was launched in 1965 sporting a hatchback and a rear bench seat. The famous British motor engineer Ken Costello saw the possibility of fitting the larger 3528cc Rover engine into the MG B GT. No significant changes were required to the original model as the new V8 engine weighed 40 pounds lighter than the four cylinder iron block engine it replaced.
Originally registered in 1974, this well presented, one owner, MG B V8 is finished in gold with a black interior. This chrome bumper car comes with an extensive history file showing a photographic restoration and engine rebuild. These V8 engined coupés are both flexible and ideally suited to touring. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, this MoT test exempt MG B has provided years of enjoyment and with the right care should continue to do so for many more.
