The Testarossa is the most recognisable of all models to pass through the fabled red gates at Maranello. The classic twelve cylinder, horizontally apposed engine with ominously red, crackle-finished cam covers belay the relentless power delivery that this ‘Red-Head’ delivers. Positioned just behind the driver, the engine configuration allows for 60-40 weight distribution giving excellent cornering and superb road holding. From personal experience, I can say that you will probably run out of talent before the car will begin to disengage itself from the tarmac. Most striking, of course, are the side vents, designed with function over form and allowing the required cooling for the massive five litre engine and ensuring minimal heat-soak into the cabin. With ample leather internally, the Testarossa benefits from electrically adjustable seats, air-conditioning and a tilting steering wheel. These driver aids contribute to the light controls and driveability, factors which, allied to its outstanding performance and stunning looks, contributed to an instant and sustained high level of demand.
Presented in classic Rossa Corsa with an understated black leather interior, this lefthand drive example is in immaculate condition throughout. The mileage, naturally, points to the little-used condition and is subsequently thought to be one of the finest Testarossas offered for sale today. Initially registered in November 1988 to Ferrari fanatic and first owner Mr Vergan Emile (St Tropez) and purchased from Charles Pozzi, Ferrari and Maserati Agents based in Paris and Le Mans, a great start to its life perhaps when you consider that Mr. Pozzi was a celebrated French Formula 1 racing driver both pre and post war. It was then snapped up by Ferrari collector, Mr. Vergan Emile from St. Tropez, he owned the car all the way until December 2014 when it was sold on to another private French collector, Romain Favellier. It was then serviced in March the following year (9,156km) at Juan Autos in Cannes, according to the enclosed service history, at a cost of €15,730. The third and final owner took delivery of F67 4FPW in May 2017 and imported into the UK. NOVA documents have been obtained and it is now registered correctly in this country. A fluids service has taken place this month and the car will be supplied with a full 12 month MoT test certificate.
