The MG B GT was introduced in October 1965. Building on the success of MG A and MG B and based on the, already popular, roadster, the new GT sported a practical hatchback that gave useful access to the rear luggage space. The new model also benefitted from a rear bench seat that enabled the car to be called a 2+2. The aerodynamic efficiency in the Pininfarina designed new model was improved and led to an increase in top speed of 5mph.
Originally registered in June 1966, this manual transmission MG B GT has been in the vendors possession for the last 28 years. As an enthusiast, during his tenure the vendor has completed most of the mechanical work himself and tells us that the car runs well. This desirable, chrome bumper, MG B GT presents well in red and benefits from a Webasto sunroof and wire wheels. Offered at no reserve, this MG comes to auction with a history file containing various bills and receipts and a V5C registration document. This car must surely represent an inexpensive opportunity for anyone interested in the world of classic cars.
