Built for the European Trike Trophy, this VW Stark Tricycle was a custom-built chassis by Ian Bunting of Smart Engineering with paintwork by Geoff Ridgeway. VW tricycle's have a cult following much like customised choppers and this example we are informed won the European Trophy in 1995, 1996 and 1997 and second place in both 1998 and 1999 before also winning the 1998 Farmyard and Barnsley Custom Show. Built around the Volkswagen engine with 21" over Tollé forks which were £5,000 alone, wide rear wheels and wheelie bars prevent any over-exuberant rider from turning over given the power. This example also features a lightened and balanced crank and twin Weber carburettors together with a custom built one-off stainless steel exhaust from South Africa. The Trike looks as stunning today as in 1998 which, at the time, cost a small fortune to create and would make a fantastic promotional or show competing example for years to come having previously been heavily featured in magazines and online media. Offered with a UK V5 registration document and history file containing invoices from the custom build, this fabulous example has just been serviced.
