The TR3 was a huge success for Triumph, mainly because it had a large two litre engine installed into a body that weighed very little. The result was that, for a reasonable price, it could comfortably keep up with the 100mph performance offered by MG and Jaguar. In 1957, the TR3 was replaced by an updated version, the TR3A although the upgrades were largely cosmetic.

Presented from a collection owned by a man with his eye on quality, this charming, baby blue example has clearly been well restored back in his home country, South Africa. Owned since 2008, we are informed that it has been serviced regularly and little used as shown by the odometer. It is kept in a heated garage with a number of other precious examples and, given the obvious quality, inside and out, represents excellent value for money.
