It is not so often that a motorcar offered surprises us. The Fiat 500 surely needs little introduction, suffice to say that this compact car became ripe for tuning with Abarth leading the way in converting them into successful fast road and racing cars of the period. With genuine Abarth models now seeing some extraordinary prices, it is no surprise that many have been converted to replicate these versions of the Fiat 500. However, the surprise is the condition of this particular example.
Originally delivered to its first owner in Italy, this was first registered in the UK in December 2016. It is presented in grey with its recently fitted, black and red interior. The car comes with a good history file showing receipts totalling £2,200 from Ricambio International Ltd, Italian car specialists. The engine and gearbox were reconditioned in 2017 and it has had little use since, as verified by the MoT test certificate history. Works undertaken include a new fitted sunroof, new carpets, fuel tank, starter motor and engine mounts. It is UK registered and comes with an indoor fitted cover in Italian colours and looks fantastic. Great fun to drive and a head turner wherever it goes.
