1962 saw the introduction of the Bentley S3 factory bodied standard steel saloon that became the last Bentley to be built upon a separate chassis. The S3 now came with twin headlamps, smaller bumper over-riders and the re-positioning of the front indicators and side lamps into one single unit on the front wings, resulting in an arguably more attractive look. The interior now boasted individual front seats and optional seat belts, electric windows and air conditioning. Mechanically, the S3 was the same as the S2 with its Rolls-Royce V8 engine and automatic gearbox, however, the S3 was also fitted with larger carburettors, improved power steering to aid smoother parking and a Lucas vacuum advance distributor to aid fuel consumption – a specification that was identical to the S3 Continental in production at the same time.

Originally registered on 23rd April 1963 and supplied by Mann Egerton & Co. Ltd. this Bentley is finished in two-tone Dawn Blue over Steel Blue with a delightfully matching blue interior.
These delightful Bentley’s are superb vehicles to drive with the 6230cc engine running virtually silently from inside the car. The interior and comfort, including the walnut dashboard, are synonymous of such a prestigious vehicle. Used regularly, this example is supplied with a copy of the original build sheets a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate and a collection of invoices dating back to 2008. Included with the invoices is a confirmation of a gearbox overhaul in 2010, she is thought to have covered 4,000 miles since the rebuild. This is such a handsome car and is offered for sale at a very realistic estimate.
