The Mini represents the most enduring of designs and occupies an unbroken thread from the early sixties right through to the present day. Produced in a number of different variants, including a strong showing in motorsport, the Mini Cooper Sport had a front-mounted radiator, driver's airbag, taller final drive ratio and was only produced from March to October 2000. It could be distinguished from earlier 'Sport Pack' equipped Coopers by its Platinum (rather than OEW) roof and bonnet stripes. The model's widened wheel arches housed 13 x 6 alloy wheels while inside it featured an alloy dashboard as well as alloy window winders, door pulls and door handles.
Presented in good order throughout with just three former keepers from new and some minor corrosion around the 1275cc engine bay, it benefits from new inner and outer sills fitted in 2017. It was also ‘Waxoyled’ at the same time and reportedly starts and drives very well with a strong gearbox. New Yokohama tyres can be found in each corner and both brightwork and lighting (lights and spotlights) are very good. Supplied with service records and MoT test certificates dating back to 2005, it also comes with both sets of original keys and handbooks.
