The BMW R100, with variant models designated by T, S, CS, RS, RS Classic, RT, RT Classic, TIC, R and GS is a BMW series using a two-cylinder, four-stroke 980cc boxer engine. Often referred to as the Slash-Seven 'Airhead', the R100 RS was the first motorcycle with standard frame fixed full fairing, this innovation was a departure from previous touring fairings, giving birth to the modern sport touring motorcycle.
This desirable R100 which was often referred to as a 'Brick' because of its four cylinder, four stroke water cooled fuel injected engine, the same as offered on the K1. Presented in purple and offered without a V5C registration document, requiring an MoT test certificate, this bike has recently been recommissioned by our vendor, a mechanical engineer. This bike is in need of a new fuel tank after which it would make a small project resulting in a sought after motorbike once complete. These examples also make great donors for lightweight track cars much like the Grinnall Scorpion which are based on BMW K engines.
