Styled by Pininfarina and launched in 1972, at the Paris Auto Salon, Ferrari unveiled an all new series to the world. It was a fast, svelte and elegant 2+2 powered by the classic VI2 engine, and through various iterations remained the most expensive model in Ferrari's range for the next 17 years. The 365 GT4 2+2 is easily identified by its six rear tail lights, knock off alloy wheels and lack of a front spoiler and 525 were produced between 1972 and 1976, only 109 being in righthand drive.

The bodies were formed and fully trimmed at the Pininfarina works in Turin, and then shipped to the Ferrari factory in Maranello for the installation of the mechanical components. Under the bonnet, Ferrari squeezed in their 4.4 litre V12 unit producing 340bhp at 7000rpm, making it, at the time, the world's most potent full four seater. Despite its 1450 kilos, the car sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds and was capable of a top speed of 155 mph.

The handsome matching numbers car offered here is presented in the ultimate specification of manual, righthand drive and in Blue Scuro with navy blue interior. Since its delivery in 1974 the car has resided not just in the UK, but also France and the USA. The comprehensive history file accompanying this car shows that it left the UK in 1984 for Paris with its new owner, Mr. Bourbon, who then took it with him onto New York before returning it to the UK via France in the 1990s, the car was then owned briefly by the famous Ferrari dealer DK Engineering.

Restoration work was carried out in New York in the late 1980s with bills and correspondence included within the history file, along with many other bills from throughout the cars life. Having just benefitted from new stainless steel exhaust silencers this powerful 4.4 V12 coupé sounds fantastic and is ready to be enjoyed. Supplied with V5C registration document,a valid MoT test certificate valid until April 2019 and accompanied by its original handbook pack and tool kit, previous  MoT test certificates and a comprehensive ownership history.
