The Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2, 400 and 412 are front-engined, V12, 2+2 grand tourers made between 1972 and 1989. The three cars are closely related, using the same body, chassis and engine evolved over time. After Ferrari's custom, their numeric names refer to the engines' single cylinder displacement expressed in cubic centimetres and therefore changed with each update to reflect the increasing displacement. The gearbox was either a five-speed, all-synchromesh manual with a single-plate clutch or three-speed automatic unit. Five-spoke alloy wheels were mounted on Rudge knock-off hubs. Fittingly for a large grand tourer, standard equipment included leather upholstery, electric windows and air conditioning. The body was altered with a raised rear deck granting more luggage space. Pininfarina made many subtle tweaks to modernize the exterior. The bumpers were body-coloured; at the front, there was a deeper spoiler and, at the rear, a black valance incorporated the foglamps and exhaust pipes. Today, its sleek, Pininfarina-designed lines and relatively limited production numbers have cemented its position as one of the most iconic Ferrari of the 1980's.

This excellent 1987 Ferrari 412 is one of the 61, UK supplied right hand drive cars fitted with an automatic gearbox. Purchased by the previous owner in 2011, this Ferrari has been in storage since then and only covering less than a thousand miles in the last seven years. In 2015, the car was taken to Ferrari specialists Keys Motorsport Silverstone Ltd. who removed both cylinder heads, replaced the head gaskets and supplied and fitted new fuel injectors. They then removed the exterior trims and lights in preparation for a re-paint and sent the car to a specialist paint workshop, on return Keys Motorsport re-assembled the car and re-dressed the leather trim where required. Finished in the original colour of dark blue with magnolia leather interior, this Ferrari has been recently serviced and a new MoT test certificate issued. This 412 is supplied with a V5C registration and a file containing historical service invoices. The Ferrari 412 is the ultimate continental cruiser of its time, the Ferrari badge with a level of luxury and comfort that could only be found in the very top British marques of the time.
