Lot 263 - 2002 Volkswagen Golf Mk. IV V5 (170bhp)
|Odometer reading||138,000 miles|
|Result||Sold - £2,072|
The Golf, as they say, needs little introduction suffice to say that it launched an entire new way of thinking. A small car with supercar performance; well-made and good looking. It is these qualities that ensured no one else ever really came close. Quite naturally, it evolved over the years with a few more refinements and more power. The fourth generation morphed into the V5 with the addition of an aluminium cylinder head boosting power to its highest yet, 150bhp. Fly-by-wire technology and a dashboard redesign completed the upgrade. Then came another upgrade, the desirable 170bhp version.
With just three owners recorded, the first Mrs. Curchods then her husband and now, the vendor. It has a comprehensive and sensible service history and factory book pack and, although not continuous, where there is a gap, few miles have been driven. With heated, black Recaro leather seats, a sunroof and fully air-conditioned, comfort is very much catered for. Complete with a multi-function steering wheel, this extremely reliable example, complete with automatic gearbox, the full 170bhp engine and full 12 month MoT test certificate, is ready to drive away today.
