The 944 was to feature new styling based upon the Le Mans styled Porsche 924 Carrera GT, along with a brand new Porsche designed and developed 2.5 litre, four cylinder engine. Sales of the 168 bhp coupé went through the roof with a massive 26,800 Porsche 944s being produced by the end of 1982. In mid 1985, the Porsche 944 underwent significant changes. The post 1985 cars, turbos and S variants are considered more desirable than the earlier cars, having improved interiors, suspensions and engines, together with a limited slip differential and larger brakes.

Owned by a Porsche enthusiast, this 944 Turbo is presented in fabulous Guards Red with contrasting black trim. In recent years this example has been used sparingly and treated as a collector's item by our vendor but maintained nevertheless regardless of cost. The comprehensive service history can be seen in the stamped service booklet which accompanies the leather bound book pack. Services were predominantly with Porsche Cambridge before H.R. Owen took over in 1995 and cared for the car until 2002 at 46,000 miles adding five further stamps. Since 2002 and under its new tenure, Porsche Torque in Uxbridge have serviced the car and the mileage has remained very low with the most recent MoT test certificate valid until June 2019 showing just 49,940 miles. The post 1985 Porsche 944's are amongst the most sought after and with such low mileage, impressive service history and just three former owners this Turbo model is sure to be popular with collector and enthusiast alike.
