Only available between 1964 and 1966, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTC was launched to make the transition from the ageing Giulia Spider to the, as yet to be ready, Duetto. The Giulia GTC is a four-seater convertible derived from the Giulia GT. Conversion of the coupé to cabriolet was done by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and involved strengthening the structure to retain rigidity after removal of the roof. It was the last project carried out by Touring before the firm folded in 1966.Only 1,000 were ever produced with just 99 being right hand drivemaking them very desirable indeed.

Chassis 760043 is an original UK supplied GTC, first registered 17thFebruary 1966 having been completed at the factory on 23rdJune 1965. The current owner bought the car in a sorry state in 1982 and set about restoring the car as a labour of love over the following two years. The project was completed to a high standard with a full bare metal, nut and bolt restoration being undertaken. The car underwent further refurbishment in 2010 for the Alfa Romeo Centenary in Milan, including a full interior re-trim. Originally Verde with tan interior, the vendor opted to change the colour combination to classic Alfa Romeo AR501 Rosso Alfa Red with black interior whilst he had the chance. The car was featured in the July 2016 edition of Classic and Sports Car Magazine.

The car is in superb condition starting on first turn with its 1570cc engine ticking over as smoothly as a sewing machine. Having been loved and cared for by the same owner for the past 35 years, the car is highly original with all correct interior and exterior trim including original dashboard, gauges, map light, steering wheel and wing.

Needless to say, 760043 comes with a very complete history including confirmation email from Alfa Romeo archives stating the car’s production information. Included in the documentation are also copies of all the former keepers making the car traceable right back to its first owner as well as service history and past MoT test certificates. The car comes supplied with a V5c registration document and current MoT test certificate valid until 28thJune 2018.
