Lot 267 - 1961 Porsche 329 Export Model Tractor
|Estimate||£23,000 - £26,000|
|Result||Sold - £22,960|
Whilst they may not be as famous as their company's sports car products, Porsche-Diesel tractors have a reputation for being every bit as well-engineered, robust and capable of delivering high levels of performance. With their origins in 1930’s Germany and under the leadership of Professor Dr. F Porsche, who was also working on designing a people’s car, the Porsche tractors were designed to be the people’s tractor for industrial and farm use. Porsche’s post-war tractors were all powered by air-cooled diesel engines. Porsche built four models of tractors, from the 14-bhp junior to the 55-bhp Super; over 125,000 Porsche-Diesel tractors were manufactured between 1956 and 1963.
Finished in the traditional red with cream wheels, the rare three cylinder Porsche tractor spent its working life in the Italian hills. It was purchased by the current English owner in Croatia where it has been fully restored to as-new condition by one of the leading restorers of these machines. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt and it comes with all its original specification and no modifications. Driving superbly, it has run over six hours since the rebuild and is ready to be used either on the farm or as your preferred method of transport to the pub. It comes supplied with photos of the restoration, an English service book and operation book; the tractor is not road registered but has a NOVA certificate. As we all know, no Porsche collection would be complete without one of these tractors and this model will not let you down.
