Regarded by many as one of the world's most beautiful cars when released in 1994, the DB7 received many subtle but effective changes over its 10 year life to complement the elegant body design. Originally designed by Ian Callum to be both beautiful and practical and encompass all the unmistakable DB styling cues, it was initially deemed a little underpowered and thus lacking in excitement. In 1999 the DB7 received significant enhancements with the introduction of the Vantage. The Vantage was the first Aston Martin to use the V12 engine and alongside styling changes enabled 420bhp with the manual example achieving 184mph top speed. A more aggressive styling with a bigger front grill, new fog lights, side and indicator lights and imposing 18" wheels complemented the styling refresh. The Vantage interior leather trim was cut and sewn at a special trim shop at Newport Pagnell, where the carpet and wood veneers were also prepared.
This UK specification example is presented in the elegant colour scheme of Galloway Green with a Saddle Tan leather interior and benefits from the 12 cylinder Vantage engine and, importantly, a manual gearbox.
This Coupé has only had two private owners; the last of whom was an AMOC club member for the last 10 years. It has a comprehensive main dealer and specialist service history and was last serviced at Aston Martin Pangbourne in November 2017. The factory options specified for this car include Burr Elm veneers, premium audio, Parktronic, sports exhaust, an i6 rear bumper and a rare GT seat conversion.
Further accessories include a foot rest, a unique headlining modification and instrument surround totalling circa £1850 in 2000. The unmarked alloy wheels are shod with the correct Bridgestone S02 tyres and the paintwork is described as near perfect. The history file contains the original sales invoice from HWM Walton for £109,300.88 together with the factory build sheet and all old MoT certificates. Also present is the current MoT test certificate valid until March 2018 with no advisories, the original handbooks, full toolkit and three keys with alarm fobs.
It is rare to find a car in this condition; a result of being owned by a fastidious collector. With low mileage, this most powerful of sporting coupés presents in fabulous condition throughout and has certainly been priced keenly.
