Lot 355 - 1983 Mercedes-Benz SL 380 Roadster
|Odometer reading||87,240 miles|
|Estimate||£13,000 - £17,000|
Introduced in early 1971, this impressive two-seater sports car replaced the 280 SL. The body and chassis of the 3rd generation SL was considerably heavier and longer than its predecessor but it still showed a slight resemblance. The standard transmission provided a top speed of 130mph and a very respectable 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds. As with the previous generations of SLs, the vehicle came as an open roadster with a removable hardtop roof. The R107 body shape went on to become one of the longest running styles from Mercedes-Benz, remaining in production until 1989 with some 13 variants during the production run.
This stunning example of Mercedes-Benz's 'Little Black Dress' is presented in metallic blue with matching blue interior. Accompanying this Mercedes-Benz is an MoT test certificate valid until July 2018 and the all important hard top. This vehicle is supplied with a V5C registration document and the cherished plate is included in the sale. Finished in a very appealing colour combination this 380 SL is sure to be a very popular drop-top among our auction attendees.
