The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, and a two-person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. Widely regarded as a design classic, this fourth series version of production came with further mechanical and cosmetic changes. Mechanical changes saw the introduction of the Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan and cosmetically, losing its front under-bumper spoiler and the rear boot spoiler picking up 164-style rear lights stretching across the width of the car together with colour coordinated plastic bumpers.

Imported into the UK during October 2017, this very smart lefthand drive S4 Spider, fitted with air conditioning and an automatic gearbox, came from the Santa Barbara area of California. Judging by the overall condition and excellent panel gaps as well as the mechanical and trim condition, the low recorded miles are believed correct. The bright red coachwork is in very good order and complemented by contrasting tan trim. A look into the engine compartment and on the undersides further confirms the impressive overall condition of this Alfa Romeo. The soft top is excellent and when folded down, a hood bag keeps the top neatly out of site. This Spider has undergone a conversion to meet the UK lighting regulations that includes headlights, front indicators, front side indicators, rear tail lights and fog lamp modifications. As standard, a third brake light is mid-mounted by the boot lid. The car also comes complete with its UK V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until November 2018. Many Alfisti consider the S4 Spider as the finest of the series; however, they are increasingly difficult to find in the condition this car boasts today and therefore, this presents the perfect opportunity with the summer just around the corner.
